Does UV ink wash off?
Date: Jul 15 2024 From: Star Color
UV ink has high adhesion, and once cured, it is difficult to clean off. Some conventional water washes or even alcohol cannot completely clean it off. Cleaning the patterns printed with UV ink is a challenging task because its physical and chemical properties are extremely stable and difficult to remove. To completely wash away UV ink, some professional cleaning methods are needed:
Use professional UV ink cleaning agent
UV ink cleaner is designed specifically for removing UV ink, which can effectively dissolve UV ink and make it easy to remove.
This cleaning agent is usually manufactured with internationally leading safe and environmentally friendly raw materials, mixed and compounded with some active additives, and has the characteristics of low volatility, harmless to the skin and environment.
When using UV ink cleaner directly to clean ink rollers or rubber blankets, there is no need to add water, and it can be applied or sprayed directly on the areas that need to be cleaned.
For printed items, they can be soaked in UV ink cleaner until the ink is completely dissolved.
During the cleaning process, a soft bristled brush can be used to gently remove any remaining ink.
Finally, rinse the surface of the item with clean water to remove residual cleaning agents and ink, and wipe it clean with a clean towel.
Chemical elimination methodChemical removal method is the use of special chemical agents to dissolve or decompose cured UV ink through chemical reactions.
Choose appropriate chemical solvents, such as organic solvents or acid-base media.
Apply a chemical solvent onto the remaining ink residue and let it stand for a period of time to allow the solvent to fully penetrate and dissolve the ink.
Wipe off the dissolved ink with a clean cloth.
High temperature removal methodHigh temperature removal method is the use of high temperature to thermally decompose cured UV ink, thereby converting the ink into a form that is easy to remove.
Use heat sources such as hot air guns and light bulbs to heat up the remaining ink.
After heating until the ink softens, gently wipe it off with a cloth or scraper.
Although
UV ink is difficult to clean, it can still be removed from the surface by using professional UV ink cleaning agents, chemical removal methods, or high-temperature removal methods. However, in the specific operation, it is necessary to choose the appropriate cleaning method according to the actual situation and strictly follow the safety operation regulations.
