Application of gravure printing in cardboard boxes

1、 Gravure Printing
Gravure printing is a printing method that places the graphic and textual parts below the blank area, and the degree of indentation in the graphic and textual parts varies in depth. The darker the graphic and textual layers, the deeper the depth. This printing method is suitable for large-scale printing, with thick ink layers, bright colors, high saturation, and fast printing speed. Gravure printing is widely used in the pre printing process of cardboard boxes, which can significantly improve the printing quality and production efficiency of cardboard boxes.

2、 Lithography, Offset Printing
Lithography, also known as offset printing, is based on the principle of oil-water repulsion for printing. On the printing plate, the graphic and textual parts are hydrophilic and hydrophobic, while the blank areas are hydrophilic and hydrophobic. Through precise ink balance, ink is only transmitted to the parts that need to be printed, ensuring the clarity and color accuracy of the printed product. Offset printing is a commonly used method in modern cardboard box printing, suitable for large-scale printing, with thin ink layers, bright colors, and soft tones.

3、 Letterpress Printing
Convex printing is a printing method in which the graphic and textual parts of a printing plate are raised, while the non graphic and textual blank parts are recessed. The printing principle is similar to a seal, among which flexographic printing is a printing method that uses an elastic relief plate and is also one of the most important printing methods in corrugated box printing. The expressive power of letterpress printing ink is about 90%, with rich color tones and strong color reproduction. It does not require high requirements for paper-based printing materials, and the cost of flexographic plate making is low and the production is flexible.

4、 Screen Printing
The graphic and textual parts of screen printing plates are holes, through which ink is transferred to the surface of the substrate. Screen printing products have bright colors, thick ink layers, strong three-dimensional effects, and can be stored for a long time. Screen printing equipment is lightweight, simple in process, easy to operate, and has strong adaptability. The substrate can be hard or soft, flat, curved spherical or convex.

1. Pre printing process flow:
Gravure printing cardboard box pre printing refers to pre printing the desired exquisite patterns on a wide mesh (cardboard surface paper) through gravure printing technology before making corrugated cardboard boxes into corrugated cardboard. Subsequently, corrugated cardboard is produced on the corrugated cardboard production line on roll shaped printing paper, and then die cut and pressed into box shapes using a die-cutting machine. This pre printing process allows the cardboard box to be printed before it is formed, avoiding the problems that may arise from printing on uneven cardboard surfaces.
2. Improve the strength and quality of cardboard boxes:
The pre printed corrugated cardboard is completed on the production line, and there is a certain heating and forming time during the production process, which helps to improve the strength of the final produced corrugated cardboard box. In addition, the high-quality printing effect of gravure printing also ensures the quality of cardboard boxes, making them more beautiful and durable.
3. Reduce scrap rates and costs:
Due to the stable and reliable printing quality of gravure printing, and the pre printing process avoiding deformation and damage that may occur during printing on cardboard after forming, the scrap rate is greatly reduced. Meanwhile, efficient printing methods also reduce production costs.
